Runway Notebook: MB Fashion Week Madrid – Entry #4
ULISES MERIDA
Using no other color but various shades of blue and green, Merida was able to concoct an eye-catching collection that gives a nod to Parisian chic with a dash of Spanish flavor. Contemporary visual twists like hex brocades, geometric ruffles and smooth swishes found throughout the collection add a hint of edginess to the structured prim and proper lady. It’s definitely one of our favorite lines so far at Madrid Fashion Week.

ANGEL SCHLESSER
The Spanish fashion heavyweight designs his Fall 2015 collection under influence of Scandinavian design. Using straight lines and restrained selection of hues, Schlesser creates a range of versatile pieces which are both modern and timeless. The shapelessness of the clothes give them a crisp feel with the promise of flattering wearability for women of all sizes.

AMAYA ARZUAGA
Using high-tech sport fabric, Arzuaga unveils a collection of textured and multi-dimensional clothes. With cascades as a key visual element for the line, Arzuaga portrays the many layers of a modern woman’s everyday life.

ANA LOCKING
With the show getting off a slow start, the runway showcase for Ana Locking suddenly explodes as the “motherboard dress,” as we would like to call it, went on. From there, look after look crafted in exquisite detail sashayed down the catwalk. Locking focused on key hues such as wintergreen, mellow yellow and marsala to infuse a dash of colour into the collection. We also fell in love with the vibrant mix of elements, from fringed and patchwork fur, mesh, and metallic threads of wool.
